Admissions
It is our intention to make our setting accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community. We aim to ensure that all sections of our community have access to the setting through open, fair and clearly communicated procedures.
- We aim to have three intakes each year in September, January and April.
- A child’s place will be confirmed within 2 weeks of receipt of their application.
- We request where possible that all children attend a minimum of two sessions per week (6 hours).

We still have some spaces on our register for September 2025 admissions – enquiries and visits are very welcome for places for the academic year 2025-26.
Come Along for a visit
The best way for you to see the Pre-School in action is to come along for a visit. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time. We suggest that you come along with your child at about 9.30am (when the other children have arrived and are registered) and stay with us for about an hour or longer if you would like. We will show you around the Pre-School and if your child feels comfortable s/he can join the other children in play time. You will get the chance to meet the staff and ask any questions you may have. We also hold an Open Day each year, please contact us for details.
When you register your child at Long Wittenham Pre-School, you will either be made an offer of a place or if one is not available your child will be added to the waiting list. Once an offer of a place has been made you will be required to confirm this by making a £50 deposit (registration fee). Please note that this deposit will not be refunded if the place is not taken up. This £50 will be deducted from your first invoice or, if your child’s place is fully funded, will be returned to you once funding has been approved.
